Well, the Bill states and in the words of Hon'ble Minister Kapil Sibal "hopes" to achieve-

*6-14 years of age children compulsory and free education
*No student be held back to advance, failed by board or expelled till class Vlll
*There must be 25% reservation in private as well as government schools for poor.
*There must be one teacher for 30 students
*Involvement of students parents in school’s administration
Child’s Rights Commission To be Formed
1.78Lakh Crore money required to implement the act. for next 5 years
Non-UPA govts already opposing the move.

Pictures say better than words. But we want to know what's your views on this Bill. Will it be helpful or just another one without any difference on the ground? Will the children benefit or the politicians will pocket the money in the name of this? How and in what time can we reach there? What you say.>>

I believe this bill will obviously prove to be a great move for the UPA! Its a great way to SHOUT "WE CARE"... but how much do they really? Intentions may be good, but unless it is acted upon in a way that makes it a worthwhile expenditure, its nothing but another burden on the common man (and woman's) pockets...

I recently read about a social biz concept.. It'll do well if it is put in place.. I'm all for it!

I doubt "unless it's acted upon" will either work! The whole plan is bullshit. Who doesn't know about the quality they have at the govt run schools! They're only adding more straw to the whole fire they made broke out.. An average child they're targeting needs what.. alphabets, basic calculations?.. 'coz the masses aren't going for calculus or probability for god's sake! Give him a dedicated two years and it'll be all fine.. God knows they couldn't teach this much in six years. Commitment lacks on the other side as well, the students waiting to pull out from govt "schools" (popularly called, publicly befuddled) asap. Who actually want to study further should be given money to buy their education. I tell u these guys waste a lot of money!

We know that quality is low in govt schools. But you will always consider Maruti 800 minimal when you compare it with Merc. Its same here. We know countless personalities holding important positions in Indian history who studied at govt schools. There is equally the role of students' will to study. IIT, IIM, DU countless institutes renowned world over are only govt run. Its all about will to implement. Basic maths and alphabets will make them "literate", to add to the statistics. But they can only be successful and contribute to the nation if they go beyond it. The prospects increase exponentially if we study beside just A B C. But yes, it requires determination by govt and will by students. Thats when "implementation" will occur.

I think their's a countable list.. If they were to be countless people sneaking out from the 'dark' and making it to the bright world.. they wouldn't be called legends than.. I don't buy into the thought of students yyearning to learn more than being just hand to mouth literate. Those who want to, as I said I believe, can be given money to buy their education.
For "willingness" to come, their parents need employment, they need bare minimum necessities first, then the thought of studying! Ikka dukka examples like APJ wud always exist.. that doesn't mean we start believing that every child's an APJ. This is a blunder that they did in the reservation kaand! Reservation for all,, u need it or not! Free and compulsory reservation :D

I think you are going away from the basics of RTE. What it says is that a child now has a fundamental right to get educated. Yes, its true that one also has right to equality, but its not what we get many a times.
BUT thinking that not many APJs will come out of the dark so not giving them opportunities is a bigger blunder becoz no one knew that APJ will really become President of India when he was a child.
The bill also provides for 25% seats in private schools for poor. Its a bold move. And systematic also.
And the motive of RTE is to provide the objectives, a roadmap to follow, a dream to fulfill. I don't know when will it be accomplished. But when its done, it would have been worth all the risks.

It's a bad way to go about it.. They're reinforcing a model that already failed! The school's system has failed.. terribly.. then let go na! Already masses aren't willing to study (no bare minimums) and u want them to sue the govt if their right to education is not provided!?

PM believe, the states will fear the "new legislation".. he knows they won't! But it's gud publicity for congress!

I don't know if the 25% thing will not create a separate class like the SC ST guys already are believed to have been living in.. I so want that to work! It's a wonderful Idea where those who can live neck to neck.. will have the space to do it! Faad thing :)

My point is simple, Give reservation to those who need it, same goes with RTE.. let those with intent to study, Apply and get the money and MONITOR them if they use the money, if they study! Follow up! Don't keep stuffing money into an already failing system! What do u think!
Only time will tell bhai!?
